多少年来,芯片一直制约着中国电子产业的发展,为了冲破这个瓶颈,多少代人不懈努力,力求摆脱”洋芯片“的制约。经过30多年的努力,国人总算看到了民族芯片业的曙光。有数据显示,在备案登记的芯片公司多达1188家。中国芯片公司的成长速度也是惊人的,曾经在一天时间里,就有4家新的芯片公司登记成立。可以说,中国掀起了“芯片企业热潮”。有统计显示,专门设计芯片且职员人数在20至50人左右的“芯片设计”公司就有近1000家。

目前中国集成电路产业飞速发展,“十一五”期间,我国集成电路产量从261.1亿块提高到653亿块,年均增速20.1%。销售收入从702.1亿元提高到1440.2亿元,年均增速15.4%。其中,芯片制造业从232.9亿元增长到447.1亿元,年均增速14%。中国半导体行业协会集成电路设计分会理事长王芹生女士指出,从设计业来看,共分为长三角、珠三角及京津地区三个产业基地,且各有所长。其中,长三角地区是生产链最为丰富、最齐全的地区,且近两年发展迅猛;珠三角地区则是应用和市场的前沿,也是中国产业与国际接轨的地区;而京津地区的优势是科研人才多、设计能力强。目前,浦东已成为中国大陆芯片产业的主力军,浦东芯片产业的跨越式发展,提高了中国芯片的制造水平,使国内相关产业初步具备与全球同业竞争的能力。

对于中国芯片产业的发展前景,在国务院去年年底公布的《加快培育和发展战略性新兴产业的决定》中明确将芯片产业作为核心基础性产业。今年是执行国家"十二五"规划的开局之年,如何坚持以整机应用为牵引,以市场为导向,着力推进技术创新、掌握核心技术、开发优势产品、形成创新特色、调整产品结构,培育形成具有国际竞争力的企业,实现产业群体性跃升发展,已成为芯片产业未来发展的方向。

(Oct 1, 2013) — PLDA, the industry leader in PCI Express® and interface IP solutions, announced enhanced support of SR-IOV (single root I/O virtualization) within their XpressRICH3 PCI Express Gen3 IP solution, enabling customers to deploy virtualized applications more quickly and efficiently directly from within the PCI Express interface. The PLDA soft IP solution with SR-IOV capability is available for ASIC and FPGA and has been extensively tested on PLDA leading edge FPGA boards. The solution provides up to Gen3 x16 support, making PLDA the PCIe Gen3 IP of choice for leading ASIC and FPGA designs.

PLDA's XpressRICH3 with SR-IOV support enables native SR-IOV within the PCIe interface. Each PLDA PCI Express device can have up to eight physical functions (PFs) and each physical function can have up to 64 virtual functions (VFs). Each virtual function is seen by software as a separate PCI Express device, enabling several devices in the same chip and easing software development cycles.

PLDA, the industry leader in PCI Express® IP solutions and GUC, the Flexible ASIC LeaderTM , today announced successful test chips for the industry’s first combined PCIe Gen 3 Controller IP and PHY IP solution on TSMC 28nm HPM (High Performance Mobile) process. The combined PCIe 3.0 Controller/PHY solution is in initial production and has been incorporated into demo boards.


The TSMC 28nm HPM process offers significantly higher speeds, up to 40 percent lower power and better gate density compared to the 40nm node and is optimized for the requirements of high performance mobile devices. The ability to easily integrate a complete PCIe Gen 3 solution into end products is a significant milestone for developers of next generation mobile devices.

The PLDA XpressRICH3 IP is a high performance, low latency, highly-configurable PCI Express Endpoint, Root port, and Switch IP, compliant to the PCI Express rev.3.0 specification. It is also available with the industry-standard AMBA AXI4 interface under the version XpressRICH3-AXI .

GUC's PCIe Gen 3 PHY is designed for networking and high end computing SoC's.  Based on GUC’s proven high-speed SERDES technology, the performance of PCIe Gen 3 PHY exceeds PCI Express Base Specification rev.3.0 while proving highly adaptable to any link/lane configurations.

Solution uses the power of PCIe and DMA to implement networking concepts in an SSD

 SAN JOSE, Calif. --  November 14, 2013 -- — PLDA, the industry leader in PCI Express® IP solutions and Fastor Systems, an innovative provider of Solid State Drives for enterprise and cloud applications, today announced the incorporation of PLDA’s PCIe IP with advanced built-in DMA into an upcoming Fastor Systems’ NVMe Solid State Drive.  

Fastor Systems’ architecture is the industry’s first and only fabric based SSD in the marketplace today.  The use of this non-blocking switch fabric has enabled a multitude of disruptive benefits resulting in a new generation of features and functions, or SSD 2.0.  These benefits include:

  • Eliminates the bus contention inherent in all existing SSDs, and results in higher and more stable performance as well higher capacity and lower cost of ownership
